Am I annoying?

Feel free to respond annonymously. Am I a whiney complainer? Or do I complain an adequate amount?

Nothing prompted this, other than my own nagging curiousity. I wonder if I should post about more positive crap than general complaints about life and the ways I spend(waste) my money.

The day ice cream was served.

So I work for a large company. Which decided to offer free ice cream to all employees via an ice cream truck today. You should have seen all the grown men and women in suits going ape-shit for a free ice cream cone. I'm pretty sure I saw some elbows being thrown, and even line-cutting.

Anyhow, I thought the whole idea was awful. Is it just me, or doesn't it seem that whenever a company does something like this to "boost morale" or whatever, they're about to let a ton of employees go... or cut bonuses or something? Perhaps I'm too much of a skeptic.

I enjoyed my cup of vanilla with rainbow sprinkles just fine either way. ;-)

Act fast.

That's the moral of the story, kids. Recently, Adam and I came across a house for rent nearby. A house house, adorable, with two bedrooms and a humongous bonus room large enough for Adam's drums, and entertaining, and storing things, and game tables, and everything. A fantastically large backyard screaming for a barbecue and hell, even a pool if we wanted (above ground of course). The house had a charming fireplace, with the mantle I've always wanted. Tons of windows, central air, beautiful. Oh yeah, and the rent would have been almost a hundred bucks less than what we've been paying.

Would have been.

Because, apparently, according to the landlord, someone beat us to it by a hair. And they were willing to move in like that day, and we clearly could not.

So I've been an insufferable bitch for the last two days because we missed out on our chance for a house house. So I've been trying to rip it apart in my mind, you know, to ease the pain. It wasn't in the best of neighborhoods, sure. But damn, it was on a quiet, tree lined street, seven minutes closer to my work. We would have just gotten a stupid alarm system. Or at least stolen one of the stake signs from another house to use as our own. The closet space was small. Yeah, but there was a huge bonus room that could have made a massive closet to rival Mariah Carey's (not that I've seen her closet, but I imagine that it would be impossibly large and fabulous). There was no formal dining room. OK, and I've hosted exactly how many formal dinner parties? Besides, that's what aforementioned massive back yard is for. Barbecues with friends and family and whoever.

Shit. I'm running out of things. I guess the worst strike against the house is that it just didn't go to us. It isn't ours. And I have no reply to that one.

We got flu shots today. Adam screamed like a sissy man and I barely noticed mine. And now we both have very sore left arms.

Here's to avoiding the flu this year... and hopefully getting our hands on the swine vaccination asap!

Where has scrapblog been all my life?!

Ugh I could spend hours playing on this thing. I found this from a fellow blogger, and love it. I've been toying with some ideas for kicking up our bedroom a notch or two.

We have that bedding, and the espresso furniture. I've been meaning to make a tufted headboard (or buy one damnit) for over a year now! So pretty much a mirrored nightstand and chandelier would be the somewhat big additions, and a little paint and some plum throw pillows. Easy peasy! Now for getting the hubby on board...

What's that thing on my face?

I keep getting the same notorious zit on my chin! Seriously every month or so, it erupts and sticks around for a week or so. And then like clockwork, he comes right back. And it's one of those huge painful ones that stay deep below the surface for a few days and then finally when you think your chin can't possibly get any redder, they come up and say hello to the world. Ick.

I'm giving Mario Badescu's drying lotion a try on it. Because celebrities swear by his line. And because he's Romanian like me!

Now hopefully this works on my not so little friend! It looks like he brought his cousins along for a visit on my forehead too...

Maui was so much fun! I don't know how we managed to get on that plane to come back home, but we were dragging our heels for sure. I'm working on sorting through pictures to post and all that and should be updating soon! I'm a little slow, I've got that Maui-time thing going (everything moves slower out there).
