Baby Maker
The VW Routan website has a baby maker feature on it. I can't resist any program that morphs my face with my hubby's so here's the product! I think he's actually kinda cute...

Well, I look crazy!
As soon as the prospect of hair growth neared, I went out and bought a mini flat iron. Adorable, and pink, at that! My curlishness is a joke, however. Curly hair takes like 3 times as long to grow as straight hair. It's like regular straight hair, but folded in half. Am I making sense?
Anyhow, this means, when I straighten my curls, the hair should come out nice and long, yes?
Please excuse the creepyness that is my face. I have been sick and lacking in the makeup department. So above is exhibit A, curly. What happens when I try and straighten the mop on my head?
I belong in a creep festival. *sigh*
It's getting there, right?

Forget that mop and broom. And that Swiffer.
I would like to formally introduce you to the newest additions to our family. They are incredibly well-regarded, and have given us immense joy. First we have Dyson, and honestly, he really sucks. Which is all we ever wanted from him! We have been needing a new vacuum cleaner for ages. We always bought the cheapie $39 ones. And they worked O.K. - once. Anything after that and you may as well have been schlopping dirt around rather than cleaning. I even tried to win another vacuum by entering Benny into a shameless beauty pageant (which had to have been rigged, because he lost!). So I asked around for recommendations. And the only vacuum that received unanimous praise was the Dyson. We hemmed and hawed at the price tag. We giggled as we schlepped the big box to the register. Who are we to own such a decidedly exquisite machine of this caliber? But now that we have chosen to join the elite ranks of Dyson owners, we couldn't feel more justified in incurring the expense. The damn thing is worth it! Here is my lovey, posing with my other lovey. Please excuse the mess aroundst them.We proceeded to clean the hell out of our house. Spring cleaning on the first day of spring indeed! And after a quick jaunt to purchase little Bean a new bed (he made love to and chewed the last one to death) we bit another bullet. We got the Shark Steam Mop. A house full of hardwood and travertined-kitchen and bathroom needs a steam mop. It's just so! And the swiffer really wasn't cutting the mustard. Oh what our other little bad boy did for our floors! We really couldn't be more proud. And proud of ourselves for actually cleaning too!
I did lose my shit earlier in the day when we ran out to get Benny a new bed. I discovered a huge crack in my windshield that was SO not there an hour earlier. And I had just seen some little punks playing football in the street. Adam says a football couldn't have cracked the window that way, but windows don't just crack like that on their own, do they?! He called and got a repair shop to come out today and replace my window. And... $185 goes literally - out the window.
I really can't be bothered to care that much anyhow, because my real focus is on what else I can vacuum and steam up!

What a Crock!
It was so hot here in Sunny SoCAL yesterday. And the darling hubby decided to do atrocities with the crock pot. Hot house+ the smell of what can only be described as beefy cabbage= Not a happy girl. We slept with the fan on full blast and I woke up with a scratchy throat this morning. At 6. I didn't even need to be up until at least 10.
But on a brighter note, we booked our hotel for Santa Barbara! I'm going to look into getting us a couples' massage for the Saturday too. And we are brunching at the Four Seasons on Sunday. I am so incredibly excited! Maybe that's why I got up so early today?
I'm just going to lounge in bed for another couple hours before work!

Santa Barbara
Our first wedding anniversary is coming up. April 2, to be precise. And being the last-minute couple we are, we haven't set a plan in stone. We wanted to get away to Catalina for a 3 day weekend, but I can't ask for time off work (I haven't been there that long, and I just got my birthday off). We were thinking Santa Barbara would be nice. We could leave Friday evening right after work, be there by 7 for dinner and be home late Sunday night. Hopefully the weather will be nice so we can get a little toasty in the sun (with SPF of course). And maybe we can even bring the little Bean along!
I'm researching places to stay and whatnot. I'd love to go with the Four Seasons, but it's $765 a night. Ouch. Has anyone been out there? What's a lovely place to stay that's near everything and perhaps has a spa? Thanks!

Injeaneous
I just want to take a moment and express my love for my new jeans. They are the most comfortable things in my life. They feel like butter on my behind. They magically make me slimmer. They make me taller. They make me a better woman, damnit!
They're Hudson's signature boot cut jeans in a very dark wash. I had a pair of Hudson's like 5 years ago and they were stiff and hurt, so I wasn't too sure about these, but when I tried them on yesterday I knew we were meant to be. I am still on a quest for more pairs of jeans (I had TONS, then gained weight, so I had gotten a few new pairs in the "larger" size, and now that I'm losing weight I need more in a smaller size!). I'm hearing great things about J Brands, so I will definitely give them a looksie sometime this week. What are your favorite jeans?
P.S. Please don't judge me for the exorbitant amounts of money I spend shopping.

The Happiest Place on Earth
Yesterday I went to the happiest place on Earth. To celebrate my birthday. And I was indeed, the happiest girl on Earth.
That was just a taste of the fun that was had yesterday. I am now in full-on post-birthday depression mode (doesn't everyone get this for a couple days after their birthday?). I need an excuse to devour more of my leftover red velvet cake. There is no good excuse.
We pigged out like it was 1999. And since it was my birthday I got a special button that announced my specialness to all that were around me. And I think I saw about 1325 other people who shared my birthday! Everyone there kept wishing me a happy birthday. And Mr. Lexi overcame his giant fear of Space Mountain and Thunder Mountain (note the victorious macho pic). In fact, he actually liked them. And if I can get his sweet ass to scan a photo for me you can see the delirious fun he's having going down Splash Mountain. Stay tuned kids!

It's Never Too Late to Annoy Your Parents
Here's how it works:
1 - Go to Wikipedia. Hit “random”or click http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:RandomThe first random Wikipedia article you get is the name of your band.
2 - Go to Quotations Page and select "random quotations"or click http://www.quotationspage.com/random.php3The last four or five words of the very last quote on the page is the title of your first album.
3 - Go to Flickr and click on “explore the last seven days”or click http://www.flickr.com/explore/interesting/7daysThird picture, no matter what it is, will be your album cover.
4 - Use Photoshop or something similar to put it all together.
5 - Put the result (or result) on your blog

Vote for Benny!
Please vote for my darling Benny as Most Valuable Pet. It would make the perfect birthday present for his momma to win :-)

Lexi's 10 Commandments
I've got my eye on a few key pieces of clothing for the upcoming warmer months. It's definitely hot today in L.A. and it's got me thinking of summertime...
1. Abercrombie Greta Shorts, $60
I like that they're not the typical butthangingoutoftheshorts length, yet they're still young and fun. I may be a bit old for Abercrombie. Then again, maybe not!
2. Michael Kors Trellis Cork Wedge Sandal, $425
I'm loving their height and the fact that the wedge doesn't fully connect- makes them a bit different. Yet Beckham says you should never have a strap around the ankle, it breaks up the leg and makes it fat. And $425 clams is steep for MK. I'd hold out on these. But this is what I'm looking for - a nude-tanish sandal.
3. True Religion Bobby Jeans, $240
I love me a pair of True Religions, ever since my first pair 4+ years ago. I saw these on sale around X-mas time and didn't snap them up, and now, regretfully they're full price. I'm holding off...
4. Metallic Havaianas, $30
Duh, flip flops are a summer staple. Havaianas are the comfiest. And these are a little spruced up.
5. Angels by VS Supersoft Hiphuggers and Thongs, 3 for $30
These are the softest, stretchiest, most comfy undies this tush has ever felt. Adore. I can't help but always buy new underwear. And ladies (and gentlemen I guess), always google Victoria's Secret Coupon Codes before buying. You will save much moola.
6. Assorted Headbands from Anthropologie, $24-$38
Since it seems I'll be rockin the short hair for a bit longer, I think some headbands are in order. Anthropologie carries some of the cutest ones I've seen. The pricing seems a bit silly, and methinks I can start making them myself (do I sense a business opportunity?).
7. Profiterole Blouse by Anthropologie, $128
This top just looks like a good time to me. And I think it's a little fair to the midsection, which is perfect for that mid-summer snacking one tends to do. Again, not likely to be paying full price on this one.
8. Free People Galinas Jersey Tank, $98
I lurve the bright poppy prints Free People uses. I think I'm 1/4 hippie.
9. Guess Nyla Dress, $98
I live in dresses during the summer. This cotton maxi dress can be so versatile- it can go from a day at the beach to a nice dinner out.
10. C&C California Tanks, $42
The best. I am a layering whore. But again, a cheap one, as I wait to buy these when they are on sale.
I will surely keep you updated with more items that I covet, but at the moment, my 10 summer staples will have to suffice. It is notable that I have not included swimwear. I'm just not *in that place* yet.
